Featuring a bright Nickel finish, The connector utilizes captive, self-energizing gold-plated center contact for a solid connection. Gem BNC crimp-crimp connectors are used for higher frequency applications up to 1GHz because the center contact is more closely matched to the center conductor of the cable. The crimped center contact provides a lower VSWR (voltage standing Wave ratio) at higher frequencies (use a 75-Ohm connector above 1GHz). also used for cables with a flexible stranded center conductor.
