WHO TO USE: 1. Wash both hands and scar tissure with mild soap and water. Rinse and pat dry. 2. Open the peel pack and remove the dressing. 3. If necessary, cut sheet to the appropriate size. 4. Make sure the scar area is dry when applying mepiform. 5. Mepiform should be worn 24 hours a day to provide for optimal healing. 6. The dressing is waterproof, therefore, it may be worn during bathing or showering. 7. When the dressing begins to lose its adherent properties, it should be changed. Wear time varies, but usually ranges between 3 and 7 days or longer. Topical silicone has empirically been shown to have positive impact in reducing hypertrophic and keloid scars. For optimum effect, Mepiform should be worn 24 hours a day. The thin, flexible design is discreet and may safely be worn during daily activities. Mepiform minimizes pain & trauma at dressing changes & can be cut to size & reapplied. One Mepiform sheet may be used several days before replacement. It can also be used as prophylactic therapy on closed wounds to prevent hypertrophic or keloid scarring.
